This seemed to finish quite early (around 24 minutes) but then the radio mode picked the Orbital's Dr Who which took me nicely to the end of my 30 minute run.
I've been frustrated by being stuck in an apparent rut of zombie runs all at 8 min/km and never getting faster (I have gone faster on some in the past, which is extra-annoying). So I decided to try Galloway walking breaks of 2min:1min, corresponding to a target pace of approx 7.5 min/km. Then I forgot to turn the zombie chases off when starting the session, and found it very hard to ignore the two that took place (I went faster for one, but had no capacity to for the second).
I certainly felt that I was pushing myself harder on the running sections than when running continuously, and was pleased to find at the end that I had averaged a pace of 7:31 min/km, almost exactly my notional target and my fastest zombie run yet. I'm not sure I could have kept that pace up for much longer, but it was satisfying for a 30 minute run. I'm going to keep up the walking breaks for my next few zombie runs (but with the chases turned off!) and see if they continue to go well.
