Ran along the Cam with [personal profile] jack at the weekend. I took the whole thing at what felt like a reasonably comfortable pace, and ended up completing the 5 km in just under 47 minutes, which isn't super fast but it's faster than I've been managing several of my 30 minute runs recently. And today after work, when the sun came out after a heavy rainstorm, I ran my hilly home trail covering 3.3 km in 30 minutes.

Both runs just felt much better than the last several weeks of grind. I'm still doing over 9' /km, but it's pleasant rather than agonizing. With the 5 km run on flat ground I felt like I could keep going forever, and even managed to pick up the pace for the last five minutes. And even with the hills, yes, I still slowed down for the long climb that's most of the return leg, but I wasn't struggling to keep going uphill at all. So maybe there is a chance I will finally start being able to go a bit faster.

And I'm getting a really nice mood lift from running, which is very hit-and-miss for me.
