So, intervals. Running intervals at 7.5 kph for as long as I could, and recovery periods of 5 minutes at 6 kph, the same as the warmup. I wanted to run for 10 minutes because that's going to work well when I'm using Runkeeper which gives me five minute time calls. But that's actually probably a bit long to run fast. I managed one lot of 10 minutes, then 8 minutes, 4 minutes and 2 minutes at the end because I wanted to finish off with running. So total time 44'22'' (the 22 seconds was faffing about with treadmill, I think), which is actually a pretty respectable average pace, 8'51'' /km. And 24 minutes of that spent running at my best pace.
That was easier on my lungs than the long continuous runs, but harder on my legs. My ankles don't exactly hurt, but they don't exactly feel good either. For that reason I don't want to push this 5 km intervals thing too much, but I'm quite pleased that I made it to 5k, without being ridiculously slow even though I was walking for 20 minutes of that.
