Just squeezed in a run

There was actually no feasible way for me to run last week, but I'm still annoyed I didn't make it. This week hasn't been much better. I went out this evening after work, and it was already starting to get dark, knowing that was going to be the last possible chance to leave time for a second run and quite likely the only chance I'm going to get to run at all this week.
It was fairly grim, it was really too cold to run (though the last half hour before sunset was about the warmest part of the day). I was on the edge of asthma, and maybe I shouldn't have pushed myself to complete the run. But I did complete it, even if it was at 9'/km with a lot of wheezing. I'm glad I was able to keep running slowly rather than giving up.
It's a bit discouraging, I feel like I'm back at the stage of weeks 5-8 of the original C25K programme, barely dragging myself through running for 30 minutes continuously, and no faster than I was two years ago. But if I'm reasonable that's because I have asthma and my lungs can't cope with cold air, not because I haven't actually improved in two years.
I really, really need to join the gym again. I've been putting it off because Freshers' week is a pretty bad time to join the gym, and because I don't want to admit I've got months of treadmill time ahead of me. But during the autumn term I'm basically never free to run during daylight hours and it's almost always going to be too cold at night.
