Two weeks of moderate laziness later, I think I'm auditioning to be an object lesson on why following the program is the smarter option. I really wanted to push past week 3 to the five minute interval, but I was running a trail instead of my usual route, and after the first 3 minutes running,I absolutely wasn't ready to start running again after the 90 seconds walking.

So. I ended up with a hybrid week three/four where I ran 3, walked 3, ran 5, walked...maybe 3, ran 3 and cooled down. I'm going to try to do week 4 day 1 for real on Saturday in more familiar territory and get back with the program. Too many variables are definitely not my friend.

I was quite lucky in that I found every level of the programme tough, I was never really tempted to skip ahead. Not until week 8, where I felt like if I was still fine after a 28 minute run I might as well do the whole 30 minutes!

Your hybrid between week 3 and week 4 sounds pretty good, well done, and a five-minute run in there is a really good going! Good luck tackling week 4 on your normal route.
