I realised as I was leaving work that I didn't have time to do the full 38 minutes of "Week 8 Day 2".  Instead I just ran directly to nursery.  The distance is almost exactly 3km and my total time was 25:28 (including the walking bits at each end).  It was quite hot and I picked up baby feeling very sweaty.  The walk back was nice though.

Running another half km in the same time sounds like a plausible goal for September! I am hoping to be able to get up to 4 km in 30 minutes by then.

If you're combining running with commuting, how are you managing to carry the things you need for work? I have considered it, because the Medical School is almost exactly 5 km from home, all downhill, and I could run it in not much more time than the bus journey takes, if you count waiting at the bus-stop and getting stuck in rush-hour traffic and walking the last 10 minutes from the stop to my front door. But I'm put off because I would have to carry my work clothes and shoes and my handbag and maybe a pile of marking or other paperwork to bring home...
