Summer jogging
Jul. 25th, 2013 08:20 pmAfter nearly a month off, this was my third run. The first time, I gave up, failing to do my previous best of 5k at 7.8kph. Last week I managed it at 7.6kph. Today I managed that again. After about 10 minutes I felt sure I couldn't do it, but I think that was my brain lying to me, because I felt about the same twenty minutes later. It reminds me to always set modest targets so I never get into a habit of needing to give up, which just trains me that I _can_ give up even when I don't really need to.
My clothes were soaked through afterwards, even though I was in a supposedly air-conditioned building. But then I also did weights (pulley, leg curls and shoulder press), which always makes me ache in a really satisfying way afterwards.
And I've been to the gym twice this week, with the weekend still to go.
