Finally the nice weather is here, and I positively wanted to go for my first outdoor run in months. Honestly it's not really warm enough to run at sunset, and I didn't quite get out of the door on the dot of five, so it wasn't perfect.

The roads around my new flat are as pretty as I hoped (basically the fringes of the Staffordshire Moorlands), but not quite as convenient for running or indeed as flat. I was mostly running along the ridge rather than actually up and down steep hills, but still, more uphill than I've ever attempted before according to Runkeeper. I found a footpath which looked like it would be nicer than running alongside a fairly major road, but unfortunately after a couple of hundred metres it abruptly hit another main road, so I had to climb down a steep bank, cross a giant bypass, and climb up the other side, and then cross a very muddy field. So with all that faffing my average pace was slower than walking pace, and honestly not much faster during the sections I was actually running.

Overall 2.6 km in 28 minutes (I stopped at that point because I found myself at another main road crossing and decided I might as well call it a day). I'm also glad I didn't try to listen to the zombies; I need to figure out a route before I can get back into the game, I think.
