I always find it really hard to judge when I should be awkwardly fitting runs around time away, and when I should just write off a given week. I try not to make too many excuses, but some weeks three runs just really doesn't work.
Two days in a row is pretty tough, I'm glad you survived it. I admit, I just don't do two days in a row. Partly because I'm a bit scared of injury or long-term wear on my joints, and partly because I need to promise myself that a successfully completed run always means at least one day off!
