Hello, I'm new.

New to the community, new to running. Well. Relatively new to running.
I am on week 3 at the moment, having done that program four times now. I didn't feel ready to make it more difficult yet, so I'm repeating the week 3 program as many times as it takes before I feel ready to move on. Today (the fourth time) went super-well, though, so perhaps next time or the time after that depending on how brave I feel.
I am using the NHS podcasts, and have taken to consistently referring to the trainer as 'Evil Laura.' Her choice of music is certainly evil, some it is right awful, such as the song from week 2 which I found actually demotivational. She gives tips on improving running technique as well, and today I realised that some of them were already starting to become second nature to me.
Anyway, this is my third attempt at making it to 5k. The first time I tried with Husband but we started too late in the year. I think we came to week 6 or 7, so we came pretty far, but rain and rain and more rain and abject misery from being soaked to the skin and squelching with every step put a stop to that. The second attempt was aborted after only a couple of weeks as I learned a thing or two about shin pains and more importantly the evils of old shoes. This time, though, I have new shoes, prepared myself mentally for having to deal with weather (and bought a running jacket) and I have an allround good feeling about it. I will finish this program one day if it's the last thing I do!
Feeling very encouraged about it all today. :)
