Mission 3 today. I'm glad [personal profile] rmc28 warned me that this mission cuts out the warm-up, which seems kind of a bad idea to me. Anyway, I ignored the instructions and warmed up for 5 minutes as usual, which meant that I got back to base after under 20 minutes of running.

The Zombies story is starting to hold my attention; the story's picking up and introducing some characters and plot elements, not just setting the scene. For someone trying to work round exercise-triggered asthma, having a sound track with a character coughing and gasping for breath is somewhat less than helpful, but still, I enjoyed the narrative and the way it broke up the monotony of the run.

Numbers much the same as Monday, but the experience was much better. I succeeded at 2 out of 3 zombie chases, and only messed up the third because I fumbled setting the treadmill to the right speed, I overshot by miles and then went too far trying to slow it down again. I think this sprinting thing is going to make more sense when I'm running IRL rather than on the treadmill, but anyway. The thing I feel good about is that I recovered much better within my two-minute walking breaks, so that I felt comfortable returning to the gentle 6.5 kph pace I'd set myself for the bulk of the run. And by the end I was breathing hard but not struggling.

3.3 km in 30 minutes, since I just kept going for 10 mins or so after the mission ended.
