Week O day 3

Yay, day 3 workouts that fall on nice sunny weekends when I'm not trying to fit in running around five thousand other things that need doing. That was almost enjoyable. I didn't quite manage a perfectly steady pace, I slowed down a bit after the first few minutes of enthusiasm, but I was hovering around 8½'/km for most of the time, according to Runkeeper. I was working hard but not uncomfortable throughout, which is more important than the actual speed.
I found a setting on Runkeeper (not sure if it's new with the latest version of the app or if I just missed it before) so that it gives me an audio signal every 500 m as well as every 5 minutes. That was good for motivation, I'd be trying to get to the 4km point before the 35 minute time-check or whatever. And good for the last few hundred metres because I could just concentrate on going as fast as I could (not very fast, I didn't have much extra left by the end of the run), rather than fiddling with my phone to see when I crossed the 5 km imaginary finish line.
I actually equalled my PR for running 5 km continuously, at a little over 43 minutes. And beat by over a minute my best time for running outside without a treadmill.
